Privacy Policy
Morsl · Operated by Snowy Ghost LLC · Last updated July 21, 2026
This policy explains what Morsl collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Morsl is operated by Snowy Ghost LLC (“we,” “us”). We keep data collection to what the app actually needs and we do not sell your personal information.
What we collect
- Account — You sign in with Sign in with Apple. We receive a unique Apple identifier for you and, if you choose to share it, your email address (which may be an Apple private-relay address that forwards to you). If you share your name on first sign-in, we use it to pre-fill your display name.
- Profile — the username, display name, bio, avatar photo, location text, and favorite cuisines you choose to add.
- Your content — the dish ratings, written reviews, photos, lists, comments, likes, follows, and reports you create in the app.
- Basic app data — limited technical information needed to operate the app (for example, a locally cached copy of your recent activity on your device). Morsl does not track you across other apps or websites and contains no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
How we use it
- To provide the app: create your account, show your profile and content, build your feed from the people you follow, and let you rate, review, heart, and organize dishes.
- To keep the community safe: screen and moderate content, and act on reports and blocks.
- To maintain and improve the service and to comply with the law.
Automated content screening and summaries
To enforce our zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content, and to generate short “what people are saying” summaries of a dish’s reviews, Morsl sends the photos and review text you post to a cloud AI service (Amazon Web Services’ Bedrock, which runs Anthropic Claude models) for automated analysis. This is used only to screen content and generate summaries within Morsl; it is not used to build advertising profiles, and the providers do not use your content to train their models.
What is public
Morsl is a social app. Your username, display name, avatar, bio, location, favorite cuisines, and your approved ratings, reviews, photos, lists, followers, and following are visible to other users of the app. Content you post is not shown publicly until it passes automated screening. Reports you submit are private to us. Please don’t post anything in a review, photo, or profile that you wouldn’t want to be public.
Who we share with (service providers)
We use a small number of processors that handle data on our behalf to run the app:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and photo storage hosting.
- Amazon Web Services — automated content screening and review summaries (see above).
- Apple — Sign in with Apple and app distribution.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
Where data is stored
Your data is stored on our providers’ servers in the United States.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account); this permanently deletes your account, profile, and the content you posted, including your uploaded photos. Residual copies may remain in routine backups for a limited period before being overwritten, or where retention is required by law.
Your choices and rights
You can edit or remove your profile details and content in the app, choose what your Apple account shares at sign-in, and delete your account entirely. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information; contact us and we will honor applicable requests.
Children
Morsl is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app where appropriate.
